Wallet Policy

How money works on Funtoosh — deposits, Golden Card escrow, the per-user commission split, and withdrawals (5% platform fee + §194J TDS where it applies).

1. Introduction

Funtoosh Wallet is a closed-loop digital wallet integrated with our authorised payment gateways (Cashfree / Razorpay / PayU, admin-controlled). It lets you:

  • Add money via UPI, credit/debit cards and net banking.
  • Send and receive Golden Cards — paid identity-reveal requests.
  • Earn money (Earnings) and withdraw it to UPI after KYC.

This page is maintained to match the running application. Limits that an admin can change are resolved server-side; numbers below are the current defaults.

2. Wallet Sub-balances

Deposit

Money you added. Used for Golden Cards, shop, Plus and other wallet payments. Not withdrawable to bank.

Earnings

Money you earned (accepted Golden Cards and other earning flows). Withdrawable to UPI after KYC.

On Hold

Escrow for Golden Cards you have sent. Released to the receiver on accept, or refunded on reject/expiry.

3. Balance Limits & KYC

  • KYC is live. Submit PAN + Aadhaar + selfie in the Wallet tab; an admin reviews and verifies. KYC is required to withdraw Earnings.
  • Without KYC: maximum aggregate wallet balance of ₹10,000 (Deposit + Earnings + On Hold) at any time.
  • Minimum add money: ₹100 (admin-configurable).
  • Minimum withdrawal: ₹1,000 (admin-configurable). Daily withdrawal cap for KYC-verified users: ₹25,000 (admin-configurable, enforced inside a single DB transaction).

4. Adding Money (Recharge)

  • Recharge through the configured gateway's secure checkout — UPI, Visa/Mastercard/RuPay cards and Indian net banking where the gateway supports them.
  • Deposit GST is OFF by design: the amount you pay is the amount credited to your Deposit (no GST is added to deposits).
  • Money is credited only after the gateway confirms a successful payment with a verified server-side signature/webhook (idempotent — duplicate callbacks never double-credit).
  • If your bank was debited but the wallet was not credited, the gateway auto-reverses within ~24 hours in most cases; otherwise email support with your bank reference.

5. Golden Cards & Escrow

  • A Golden Card is a paid identity-reveal request. It can be sent from an anonymous chat, an anonymous answer, or a confession context — never to yourself, and never again to a pair already connected (My Funtoosh).
  • Minimum amount ₹500. The receiver sets their own rate in Settings → Interactions (floor ₹500, no upper limit); the server enforces the receiver's rate.
  • On send, the card amount (plus GST if the GST engine is collecting — see §8) moves from Deposit to On Hold (escrow).
  • Pending window: 15 days (Funtoosh Plus members: 5 days).
  • On Accept: identities reveal mutually, your chat moves to My Funtoosh with history, and the receiver's Earnings are credited after the commission split (§6).
  • On Reject or Expiry (both silent): the card amount plus GST is refunded to your Deposit and you get one wallet refund notification.

6. Commission (Per-User Split)

There is no fixed commission rate for everyone. Commission is a per-user split: each receiver's profile carries their commission percentage — that percentage is the platform's cut, and the receiver earns the rest. Admin can set a per-user override; when a user has none, the admin's global default applies (currently 50%).

Example — receiver's commission 40%

₹1,000 Golden Card accepted → platform retains ₹400 (40%), receiver's Earnings get ₹600 (60%).

Example — default 50%

₹1,000 Golden Card accepted → platform retains ₹500 (50%), receiver's Earnings get ₹500 (50%).

The exact split is shown transparently at the time you send or accept a card.

7. Withdrawals to UPI

  • Only Earnings can be withdrawn. Deposit and On Hold are not withdrawable.
  • Withdrawal goes to your personal UPI ID (VPA).
  • KYC verified is mandatory (RBI / anti-money-laundering norms).
  • Minimum withdrawal ₹1,000; daily cap ₹25,000 (defaults, admin-configurable).
  • Payouts are reviewed and processed manually — typically within 24 hours.
  • Every withdrawal request re-verifies your wallet PIN server-side, is checked against the daily cap and FY TDS cumulative inside one database transaction (a race can never exceed the cap), and writes a full ledger trail.
  • If a payout fails (wrong UPI, UPI down), the amount is returned to your Earnings and you can retry.

8. Fees & Tax (GST / TDS)

  • No fee on deposits. No GST on deposits (engine OFF by design).
  • Withdrawal fee: 5% of the gross amount — the only fee on a withdrawal.
  • TDS §194J: 10%, withheld once your cumulative withdrawals in a financial year (Apr 1 – Mar 31) cross ₹30,000. From the crossing withdrawal onward, TDS applies to the full amount. TDS is a statutory deduction collected only when the platform's TAN is on file (TAN-gated) — it is not a platform fee.
  • GST on Golden Cards / chat / shop / Plus is governed by the GST engine: when the platform's GSTIN is saved and the engine is ON, the configured rates apply (Golden Card & paid chat: GST added on top; shop prices are GST-inclusive; Plus: added on top). When the engine is OFF no GST is collected. Refunds of Golden Cards return amount + GST.

9. Security (PIN, Biometrics, RLS)

  • Wallet PIN is live and mandatory for wallet access. Unlock lasts 15 minutes; every ₹100+ spend (chat, Golden Card, shop, Plus) requires a fresh PIN unless you opted out per category in PIN settings.
  • Optional biometric unlock (device WebAuthn / biometric spend token) is available on supported devices.
  • Wrong-PIN attempts are rate-limited and locked out; every attempt is audited for support evidence.
  • Wallet, ledger, withdrawal and Golden Card tables are row-level-security locked: you can read only your own rows, and no money row can be written directly by a client — all money movement runs through server-side routes and service-role RPCs.
  • Payment responses/webhooks are signature-verified; credits are idempotent; every transaction is logged in your wallet history.

10. Frozen Wallets & Support Holds

If your wallet is frozen by support (fraud review, dispute, compliance hold), all money movement stops — adding money, withdrawals, Golden Card sends, paid chat, shop and Plus purchases are blocked with “Wallet frozen — contact support” until the hold is reviewed and lifted.

11. Prohibited Use

  • Using stolen cards, stolen UPI access, or unauthorised payment methods.
  • Chargeback fraud — permanent ban and legal action.
  • Money laundering, circular transfers between own accounts, or any use in violation of Indian law (PMLA, IT Act, IPC provisions).
  • Using the wallet to pay for adult content, gambling, illegal goods, or activity prohibited under our Content Policy and Guidelines.

12. Disputes & Refunds

For any payment dispute, failed recharge, unauthorised transaction, or refund request, contact us within 30 days at [email protected] with the transaction ID (visible in Wallet History). Refunds follow our Refund Policy. Valid disputes are resolved within 7–14 working days in coordination with the gateway and your bank.
