Account Suspension & Termination Policy
Fair, transparent enforcement for anonymous community safety. Reasons, process, and appeal rights.
1. Introduction
Funtoosh enforces policies to keep anonymous messaging safe, respectful, and lawful. This policy explains when and how we may suspend, limit, or terminate accounts for violations of Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Content Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, User Conduct Policy, Anti-Spam Policy, Intellectual Property Policy, Safety Policy, and Wallet Policy. Our goal is transparency and fairness, per Transparency Page commitments.
2. Definitions
- Suspension: Temporary restriction of account features (messaging, discovery, wallet) for a defined period.
- Termination: Permanent removal of account and access to Platform.
- Discovery Removal: Profile removed from discovery, reducing visibility but retaining messaging.
- Appeal: Request for re-review of enforcement action.
3. Reasons for Enforcement Action
- Child Safety: CSAM, grooming, sexualization of minors — immediate permanent termination and legal report.
- Safety Violations: Harassment after block, doxing, threats, incitement to violence, self-harm encouragement.
- Fraud & Financial: Wallet recharge fraud, tip farming, chargeback abuse, money laundering per Wallet Policy and Payment Terms.
- Spam & Abuse: Bulk unsolicited anonymous messages, discovery spam, wallet spam, advertisement spam per Anti-Spam Policy and spam detection.
- Content Violations: Prohibited content per Content Policy, Intellectual Property violations per Copyright Policy.
- Impersonation & Deception: Impersonating real persons, brands, or Funtoosh staff, or using official badges.
- Security: Attempting to bypass Email OTP login rate limiting, secure cookies, or security monitoring, or violating Security Page responsible disclosure.
4. Types of Enforcement Actions
- Warning: In-app notice with reason and link to relevant policy, no feature restriction, educational.
- Temporary Mute: 24 hours to 7 days inability to send new anonymous messages, but can read and block/report.
- Discovery Removal: Profile removed from discovery for 7-30 days, reducing unsolicited interactions.
- Wallet Restriction: Temporary hold on wallet recharge, tips, or payouts pending fraud review per Wallet Policy.
- Suspension: 7-30 days suspension of account, login allowed to view notice and appeal, but no messaging or wallet.
- Permanent Termination: Account and public key queued for deletion within 7 days per Data Retention & Deletion Policy, wallet ledger retained hashed where required.
5. Enforcement Process
- Report received via in-app reporting, [email protected], or [email protected].
- A trained moderator reviews the reported content against our policies, in context. We do not routinely read private conversations, and no account-level action is taken by an automated tool alone.
- Decision made per severity and history: first-time low-severity may receive warning, repeat or high-severity receives suspension or termination.
- User notified via in-app banner and email (if provided) with reason, policy reference, and appeal instructions.
- Action logged anonymously in Transparency Page reports for accountability.
6. Appeal & Reinstatement
You may appeal within 30 days of notice:
- Email [email protected] with subject "Appeal - [Case ID]" including case ID, email used for Email OTP login, explanation, and any evidence.
- Separate senior team reviews appeal within 5 business days, not the original moderator, for fairness.
- If appeal succeeds, account reinstated with warning or reduced restriction; if fails, original action stands, with option for second appeal via Grievance Officer per Grievance Redressal Policy within 15 days.
- For child safety and fraud cases with legal reporting, appeal may be limited.
7. Account Deletion by User
You may delete your account anytime via Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account → Confirm. Upon deletion, local keys wiped immediately, public key queued for deletion within 7 days, wallet ledger retained hashed where required per Data Retention & Deletion Policy and Wallet Policy. Deletion is irreversible.
8. User Responsibilities
- Follow all policies, use blocking users and reporting users for safety, not retaliation.
- Do not create alternate accounts to evade suspension (ban evasion) — results in permanent termination.
- Keep Email OTP secure, provide accurate information for appeals.
9. Platform Responsibilities
- Enforce fairly, transparently, and proportionately, with clear reasons, policy references, and appeal rights.
- Maintain content moderation for reported content, spam detection, abuse detection, fraud prevention, and security monitoring while preserving encryption and privacy protection.
- Log enforcement anonymously in Transparency Page and provide Trust & Safety education.

Statutory timelines we work to: acknowledgement within 24 hours; disposal within 15 days; prohibited content under Rule 3(2)(b) within 72 hours; non-consensual sexually explicit or morphed content under Rule 4(1)(p) within 24 hours; court or government orders under Rule 3(1)(d) within 36 hours. Removed content and the associated records are retained for 180 days for investigation purposes. These are the limits set by law for us to act within; they are not a guarantee of any particular outcome on any particular report.
Before we remove or disable content on our own initiative, Rule 4(8) requires us to notify you with reasons and give you a reasonable opportunity to dispute it. Automated tools may flag content, but a human reviews before any account-level action is taken. See the Transparency Report.
